I do not support the development if a bionic person. First and foremost because I feel like we have societal problems that could be served better by having energy and resources directed toward them. I don’t see the benefit to the greater good of creating a bionic person. I would prefer that we try to become a more peaceful species and organize ourselves better instead of trying to create a simplified version of ourselves that we can control and perfect. Secondly, have you ever engaged in science fiction? I don’t claim to be a sci-fi nerd, but if there are any out there, please give me an example of a storyline that shows that a bionic person in the end is a great boon to society. All I have ever read or watched always leads back to our need to get in touch with our humanity. Along the same lines, the use of a bionic person for military purposes absolutely does not change my view. I don’t see how trading robots for humans solves any of the issues...
